Parrot CK3100 Phonebook Synchronisation
What is Phonebook Syncronisation on the Parrot CK3100 ?
Phonebook syncronisation is when your mobile phone transfers it’s contact list to the CK3100. This contact list can then be used to display the phonebook on the CK3100 display. If you receive an incoming call the name will then be displayed on the CK3100 LCD. If there is no contact stored in the list the phone number will be displayed.
How to make the phonebook synchronise ?
Quite simply pair your phone with the CK3100 – pairing code is 1234.
After pairing, the mobile phone will connect to the CK3100 and you will see a small rotating circle at the bottom of the display – this confirms that the CK3100 has commenced transferring the phonebook. The initial transfer may take some time depending on the quantity of contacts to be transferred. Upon completion, the spinning circle will disappear. You will then be able to press the centre button on the LCD and navigate though the contact list – A to Z.
Also, it is worthwhile turning the CK3100 off and then back on after the initial pairing, as the phonebook does not always transfer after the initial pairing.
Is there a limit on the amount of contacts that can be transferred ?
Yes, the CK3100 has a phonebook limit of 500 to 1000 telephone numbers per paired phone ( there can be up to 5 paired phones ). Contacts that do not have a telephone number are not transferred ( i.e. if they only have an email address ).
Please note that the limit is based on telephone numbers transferred. If you have 3 numbers per contact you would get a maximum of 300 to 350 contacts transferred.
If you exceed the amount of contact memory in the CK3100 it will still display the start of the phonebook, but will continue until it gets to maximum capacity, so you may find you have contacts from A to say P or R or Q etc,,
Common questions about the Phonebook Sync
I’ve lost my phone – can I get my contacts back from the CK3100 ?
The short answer is no. If the original phone is not connected the the CK3100 the phone book cannot be displayed – this is a security feature to prevent unauthorised phonebook transfer, so that other persons cannot view your contact list.
Can I see the contact from other phones paired to the CK3100 ?
This is not possible, Each phone contact list is kept separate.
My phonebook will not synchronise – Android
Most newer Android phones will synchronise by default – no further action required. Depending on the Android version you may need to do the following:
Older units (Android 4,5,6) – when first connecting you will get a “PBAP” phonebook synchronisation message on the top notification bar of the display. This message should be accepted.
Newer units (Android 7,8,9) – Phonebook should transfer automatically. If this does not occur, on your phone go into Settings / Bluetooth / and select the CK3100. You will find a “cog” next to the CK3100 name. Click on the cog and it will open another options screen. Check that “Contact Sync” is turned On.
In both cases turn off the CK3100 and let the phone re-connect to force phonebook transfer.
My phonebook will not synchronise – iPhone
After pairing the phonebook transfer should start automatically. If this does not occur, on your phone go into Settings / Bluetooth / and select the CK3100. You will find a “i” next to the CK3100 name. Click on the “i” and it will open another options screen. Check that “Contact Sync” is turned On.
Turn off the CK3100 and let the phone re-connect to force phonebook transfer.
Phonebook refuses to transfer..
There are occasions where the phonebook will not synchronise or causes the CK3100 to connect / disconnect or crash. The causes can be difficult to pinpoint.
If the CK3100 refuses to transfer the contacts, you can with Android units, send the phone book manually (this is not possible with Apple units). Before pairing phone on the CK3100 go into Settings / Pair Phone and select “No Sync”. Then pair phone. Simply then go into phonebook and select all contacts and “share” over Bluetooth – select the CK3100.
On English versions accented characters and special characters can cause issues and stop the sync from working or failing to fully load the phonebook – a to Z and 0 to 9 are fine. Characters such as åçêîìÄô (but not exclusively as there are many others) will cause issues.
Also, if you still are having issues deleting the phone recent / missed call lists has been known to cure sync issues.

My off switch has broken off ,can I do anything about repairing it. I find it a bit dangerous trying to just turn my phone off whilst driving
The Red end button is on the same plastic moulding as the Green button. There are no spares for this. Would need a replacement screen.

I have lost all my contacts in my iPhone with no backup to retrieve them , is it possible to recover them from my parrot CK3100 as they are all still there when my iPhone is connected
Hello Manus,
The contact list is held by the CK3100, but due to the Bluetooth security protocol the phonebook can only be displayed when the phone is connected. You cannot transfer the contacts from the CK3100.
You are lucky that the contacts are still visible. Do not attempt to make the iphone re-sychronise the contact list as you will almost certainly lose all contacts.
As a matter of urgency manually go through the phonebook and write down each contact and tel no(s).
It’s time for pencil and paper again…
