POINTS DON’T ALWAYS MEAN PRIZES !! – ESPECIALLY ON YOUR DRIVING LICENCE
With the continued use of handheld phones in cars the government has decided to get tough and has increased the fine to £ 200 and to add 6 points to your driving licence for the offence (up from 3 points and £ 100 fine).
You can now get 6 points by picking up a handheld device whilst driving (even when stuck in traffic also will get you the points and fine).
The use of a corded headset is also prohibited if it has 2 earpieces
The original law was introduced in 2003, and have personally seen customers with 9 points for talking on the phone whilst driving before finally getting a fitted Bluetooth handsfree kit.
