How to reset a Parrot MKi9100
This seems to be a common question, so here is the method to reset the Parrot MKi9100.
Sometimes it may be necessary to reset the MKi9100. Resetting will remove all paired devices and reset settings back to factory standard. It should be noted that “mute on streaming” option is not altered by a factory reset.
Please note that the remote control MUST be able to be used with the MKi9100. If the remote does not work you will not be able to reset the MKi9100. All MKi remotes contain a CR2032 battery and it is common for people to forget to change them – they typically last a year to 18 months in normal use.
Reset procedure:
1. Turn on the MKi9100
2. Press the centre button on the remote and rotate until you get to “Settings”
3. Enter Settings menu and navigate down to “Advanced Settings”
4. When in Advanced Settings menu select “Factory Reset” and press the centre button on the remote.
5. The MKi9100 will now re-boot. Please note that sometimes it will refuse to erase memory. Simply turn off the MKi9100 and try again.
6. After the re-boot it may be necessary to set the language version again. Simply select the required language from the listed options and press remote control centre button to set the language. The MKi9100 will then re-boot again.
Different software versions of Parrot MKi9100’s may operate slightly differently. If you have a Version 2 control box you can update this to the latest version for that version – V2.20
If you have a version 3 control box you MUST NOT update the firmware. There are no updates required for this version.

Hi I have a mki92100 kit. For some reason the display screen only shows half the output? The left hand side of the screen is blank. Is this an error of the screen or the control box. It is difficult to navigate as you cannot see a lot of the test. Plus I cannot factory reset as I cannot see this command. I have tried deleting the memory with no joy? I am thinking of getting a replacement screen but won’t if it will not help. Could 1/2 of the screen be dead?
Thanks
Most probably is a display failure. Sounds like the display driver has failed on one side.
Is there any way to remove old devices from a Parrot Mki9100 without the remote?
No, not possible

Having an issue with the memory full story how do i delete devices on parrot using the parrot unika steering wheel control?
MKi9100 & MKi9200:
Enter menu on Parrot by pushing these buttons: Track forward, track back, Track forward, track back
When in Menu use the track forward button to scroll to settings. Enter settings by pressing phone button. Scroll down to Paired Devices and press phone button to enter. Select the device to remove by track forward and phone button, scroll down to delete and press phone button to confirm.
Repeat for all devices not required.
To exit any menu hold the phone button for 1 second
MKi9000: As above, but navigate to Settings and Factory Reset. Press phone button to make it do it.
After re-boot select required language and press phone button to confirm. MKi9000 will then re-boot again
Pair phone
Hello,
I have been using my MKi9100 for about a year, when it started having troubles. The pairing process passes, but during it a message “memory full” flashes on the screen. Have tried to reset to factory as it is described. Sometimes during the reset the system comes to a halt with a message “reseting to factory” or so. Left it on for an hour or so. Nothing happened. Switched of the ignition, reset again. Reboot, language change, home screen – everything is ok. Pairing process goes the same way – I can find mki9100 in my phone list as paired, and S10+ in parrot as paired. But during the pairing process the “memory full” flashes again. As I try to reconnect the phone – nothing is happening. Have tried different phones – no help. Software is no. 3 with some following numbers 🙂 Any suggestions? Have not tried to disconnect the car battery. I will do it now.
From your description would suspect there is a memory error in the Mki9100 control box. This would be a hardware fault and would require the control box to be replaced.
Before doing that:
Does the MKi9100 shut down correctly and show “Good Bye” on the screen ? If it doesn’t there is an installation issue which will cause memory errors.
See this link – process is the same for the MKi9100
thanks for reply is it possible to completely remove all power from box in effort to enable a reset?
i.e. remove battery from vehicle ?
as matter of interest how much is new box and would same harness accommodate different model
Hello Larry,
You can disconnect the battery earth terminal on the vehicle – only needs to be done for 30 secs or so.
This is unlikely to cure the fault.
Now only keep complete kits:
MKi9100
MKi9200
The existing wiring should be compatible with any of the MKi Series or also the Bury CC series
CC9058
CC9068
For the Bury units you will have to replace microphone and display cable as well
i have parrot mki9100 have tried to reset as it would not see different phone., now showing language request i press english then it goes into reboot but comes back to requesting language. any ideas?
Hello Larry,
Unfortunately, if you cannot get past the language selection screen this would indicate a control box issue.
The control box would need to be replaced.
