These photos illustrate the disassembly, installtion and re-essembly of a Nokia handsfree car kit in a new VW Golf MK5.

The handsfree kit was installed with a ProClip No Hole mounting bracket, Dual Band glass mount antenna and Audio Interface Kit to put the handsfree speech through the stereo. The stereo is also muted during calls.

The centre console has been disassembled, allowing removal of the fitted stereo and connection of the handsfree car kit.

The front passenger A-Pillar trim has been removed to allow routing of the microphone and antenna cables. As with many new vehicles, the Golf 5 is fitted with curtain airbags. The microphone and antenna cables have been cable tied to the existing wiring harness.

The stereo connector assembly used on the Golf 5. This was then connected to an audio interface kit and the Nokia handsfree kit. As with many new vehicles, the Golf 5 has no ignition feed on the stereo connector, so this has to be connected to a switched 12v supply.
